Despite adverse weather conditions friends, neighbours and lifeboat supporters turned out in force to see the annual display of seasonal garden lights provided by Tina and Jeff Fennimore at their home in Pevensey Bay. The lights were switched on by Mark Sawyer, coxswain of the Eastbourne Lifeboat supported by Santa, Elves, Snowman and Stormy Stan. Fantastic neighbours provided BBQ, mulled wine with roasted chestnuts while fundraisers donated cakes, gingerbread men and Christmas biscuits. Together with a successful raffle and tombola raised a magnificent sum of £720.35 for Eastbourne RNLI Lifeboats.
Brave and hardy supporters jointed the lifeboat crew to sing traditional seasonal carols using the shelter from the elements provided by Pablo’s restaurant. Great time had by all at this annual event and thanks go to the band of the Salvation Army, Voices Choir and coffee and mince provided pies courtesy of Di Lieto’s coffee lounge.
