The 12 year old Tamar prototype visited Sovereign Harbour today on a Police training exercise. The boat was built in 2000 and used for trials until 2006. It was purchased by Kent police in 2008 and became Princess Alexandra 111 and now operates out of Sheerness. The internal layout is completely different to our lifeboat in that she has been fitted out to suit Police requirements. She even has overnight accommodation, a toilet and cooking facilities!
