In what has become a Christmas tradition, Tina and Jeff Fennimore have once again opened up their home in Pevensey Bay to friends and neighbours raising funds for Eastbourne Lifeboats
This year’s event, the seventh consecutive year, was held back in December and despite atrocious weather attracted well over 130 guests. There were raffles, games for the children and hot food served courtesy of Tina’s neighbours Mark and Claire Thomson and Pat Field. The evening’s highlight was the ceremonial turning on of the lights conducted by Father Christmas and lifeboat Coxswain Mark Sawyer. People have travelled from around the district to admire the lights and leave donations in the collection box. When the decorations were finally taken down the total collected was £869.84. Tina, who is a volunteer on the lifeboat fundraising team, thanked everyone for their support and for making this the most successful event she has hosted to date and added that she is already looking forward to next year.
