Residents, friends and social club members at Croxden Court, the sheltered housing scheme at Hampden Park,  joined forces over the past year to raise funds for Eastbourne RNLI’s new lifeboat.

Holding regular raffles, table-top sales and collecting donations from visitors they managed to raise over £760 which was handed to Coxswain Mark Sawyer and Lifeboat Management Group Chairman Dr. Colin McKee at a recent ceremony.

In recognition of their remarkable effort, Barclays Bank matched the donation almost pound for pound and during a later presentation at the lifeboat station a further cheque for £750 was presented to Lifeboat Operations Manager Paul Metcalfe.
