Two members from Eastbourne Rowing Club completed this year’s Boston Rowing Marathon raising £1800 through sponsorship of which £900 was donated to Eastbourne lifeboats
On behalf of Eastbourne Rowing Club, Colin Guppy and Bob Noakes took part in this year’s Boston Rowing Marathon on September 18th. Rowing from Lincoln to Boston, a distance of 50.2 kilometres, they were delighted with the support they received from fellow club members, friends and family and raised £900 each for their chosen Charities, the RNLI and Myeloma Research UK. They completed the gruelling course in 4 hours 32 minutes finishing 47th out of 128 crews. Following Sunday’s training exercise Colin and Bob presented a cheque to Lifeboat Operations Manager Carl Pocock and some of the crew.
