Long term supporters of Eastbourne RNLI, Jerome and Carol Farrow, owners of the Marine Parade Hotel, Eastbourne, met some of the volunteer crew on Sunday prior to a familiarisation trip aboard the station’s Mersey class lifeboat.

The Farrow family host a variety of fund raising events at their hotel which to date has raised approaching £10,000 for the charity. In accepting their latest cheque, Paul Metcalfe, Lifeboat Operations Manager, said “Jerome and Carol have become tremendous supporters of Eastbourne Lifeboats. Every penny we receive is crucial to our lifesaving work and without supporters like these, we simply could not continue. The RNLI continues to rely on voluntary contributions and legacies for income. It is only through kind gifts such as this we are able to provide our volunteer crews with efficient boats, equipment and training needed to save lives at sea”
