Tempo event raises £250 for Eastbourne RNLI

Specialist running shop Tempo, based in Susan’s Road, has hosted a 10k fun run for four consecutive years with profits being donated to Eastbourne lifeboats.    The Tempo 10k was held on October 1st this year and had 250 runners sign up for the annual race. This was the 4th edition of the event which has supported Eastbourne RNLI each year. Waterfront Traders support Eastbourne RNLI

For a number of years the traders based on the Waterfront at Sovereign Harbour have been hosting a variety of events with any profits going to Eastbourne Lifeboats. Their latest donation of £750 brings the total to in excess of £5000  At a recent presentation the group handed over a new portable public address system, purchased with some of the £750, which the volunteer lifeboat crew can use at public outdoor events such as the forthcoming Carols with the Crew which will be held on the Waterfront on the 10th December. Donation to Lifeboat from Lighthouse Walk

Eastbourne lifeboats have been presented with a cheque for £500 from the organisers of the recent ‘Lighthouse Walk’  Alan Young from Eastbourne Rotary AM presented the cheque to Terry Colbran Eastbourne lifeboat’s Community Safety Officer. The money was raised via entry fees and donations when hundreds of people took advantage of the spring tides to walk from Holywell to the Beachy Head lighthouse and back. Yacht Club raffle raises £816 for Eastbourne Lifeboats

Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club has recently donated £816 to the volunteer crew of Eastbourne Lifeboats following their successful raffle which was held during the summer regatta.   The headline prize in the raffle was a fine art print of an artwork depicting Eastbourne’s all-weather lifeboat Diamond Jubilee by Martin Sutton which had been signed by members of the lifeboat crew. Local artist and fine art dealer Neil Buchanan had the print framed and also sourced the other prizes. Students donate to RNLI Eastbourne

Eastbourne lifeboats were pleased to welcome Senior Lecturer Dr Michael Williams and student Katharina Burger to the station last night to accept a cheque for £823.69 which had been raised by International Event Management students at Brighton University   As part of their syllabus the students organised several events including a fashion show, a pirate themed ball, an art exhibition and several quiz nights with all profits being donated to charity.
