Stagecoach helps Eastbourne Lifeboat

Eastbourne Lifeboats were one of the beneficiaries from the generosity of bus operator Stagecoach who donated £400 which had been raised from trips on their vintage bus which operated in the run-up to Christmas.  During December the bus, driven by specialist driver Garth Porrell, offered short trips around Eastbourne for £1 per trip with all proceeds being donated to local charities. Tina’s lights raise cash for Eastbourne RNLI

For several years lifeboat volunteer Tina Fennimore and husband Jeff have been illuminating their house in Westham Drive during the festive season and hosting an open evening to raise cash for Eastbourne Lifeboats. This years’ grand switch-on by Father Christmas took place on 2nd December and has proved to be the biggest and most successful to date with hundreds of friends, neighbours and supporters attending the event. Tempo event raises £250 for Eastbourne RNLI

Specialist running shop Tempo, based in Susan’s Road, has hosted a 10k fun run for four consecutive years with profits being donated to Eastbourne lifeboats.    The Tempo 10k was held on October 1st this year and had 250 runners sign up for the annual race. This was the 4th edition of the event which has supported Eastbourne RNLI each year. Waterfront Traders support Eastbourne RNLI

For a number of years the traders based on the Waterfront at Sovereign Harbour have been hosting a variety of events with any profits going to Eastbourne Lifeboats. Their latest donation of £750 brings the total to in excess of £5000  At a recent presentation the group handed over a new portable public address system, purchased with some of the £750, which the volunteer lifeboat crew can use at public outdoor events such as the forthcoming Carols with the Crew which will be held on the Waterfront on the 10th December. Donation to Lifeboat from Lighthouse Walk

Eastbourne lifeboats have been presented with a cheque for £500 from the organisers of the recent ‘Lighthouse Walk’  Alan Young from Eastbourne Rotary AM presented the cheque to Terry Colbran Eastbourne lifeboat’s Community Safety Officer. The money was raised via entry fees and donations when hundreds of people took advantage of the spring tides to walk from Holywell to the Beachy Head lighthouse and back.
