Our dedicated volunteer crew were paged this evening at 8pm and requested to launch All Weather Lifeboat Diamond Jubilee after reports of a ‘wind surfer or small yacht’ in trouble off Langney Point. Following a comprehensive search of the area between Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne Pier with nothing found it was assumed the first informant had seen members of the local sailing club returning to their base. The Lifeboat was stood down and returned to station and ready for service at 9.45pm, a busy 24 hours for the volunteer crew with special thanks to crew member Dave Cocklin who started and ended his birthday with lifeboat call outs.
